I think line 6 will put switches on future units after the number of people have asked why. There is no other l6 psu that will work, the old pods use AC power but these new ones use DC. The spec is on the psu you have. I think it is 9VDC @ 3 amps, and maybe centre pin negative. But please check on yours. Any after Market psu should work. Also pay notice to if it says regulated or unregulated too. Also extensions are probably available from an electronics store like marlin or mouser

I'm really happy with my new HD500 except for two things:-

1) There's no on/off switch which is a pain. I'd love to know why?

2) The supplied powercable is far shoirter than the one for my old X3 Live - and the straight end jack is much more prone to damage than the angled kind that I had on the X3. Can I use other Line 6 PSUs or is the specification different for the HD500? Could someone tell me:-

     a) Which other Line 6 PSU's can be safely and reliably used?

     b) What is the spec of the PSU for the HD500?

     c) Is there such thing as an extension cable which would fit between the voltage regulator and the plg unit?

Thanks a lot.

Chris
