yes, you are completly right about that issue. I tried everything. I could not find a solution for this issue. It's really annoying. I cant believe Line6 did not release any solution for this problem. Every PODman wants to upgrade their unit and want to use ex-pod tones or similar tones for new pod. Its really sucks. Isn't it ?

and Nick, why don't you say something ?

I believe Gearbox does not run without the X3 (or other compatible hardware device) connected. It does not run in offline mode.

Thanks alot for the suggestion, but I recently tried this solituon, but Gear Box didnt work offline. I shall try again with new version of gear box. If there is a trick about that, please tell us how it will be ... 10x !

You said you had the data from the X3 Live. The data I assume you have is the individual patches or a bundle of patches. Simply use Bundle Open. You won't be able to hear your original X3 Live patches obviously without an X3 Live, but you will be able to view the settings for each patch which is the point of the exercise and provided you can remember the names of your favourite X3 Live patches, I'm guessing you will also recall roughly how they should sound.. If that isn't good enough, you will need to borrow or buy another X3 Live to be able to hear your previous tones again

But how do I get the x3 tones into my gearbox; I no longer have the hardware...

You simply load the X3 Live tones into Gearbox and view the settings. You cannot convert X3 Live tones directly/electronically to POD HD500 format. You would load HD500 edit on your computer and run it at the same time as Gearbox and then you'd manually recreate what you can using HD500 basing the amp and FX choices and settings as closely as possible to those in your X3 Live patches. Essentially you are making brand new patches.

Thanks a lot for your reply; I already installed the Gearbox; on the other hand, I´ve the tones presets from the former line 6 x3 live, but how do I transfer those presets to the gearbox archives and then to the hd500?

thanks for your help, please be specific cause I´m not so go at this

Dylantan is on the right lines with his suggestion, but Line 6 Edit probably won't work for you unfortunately, however Gearbox v 3.72 will. Go to the Downloads section above and navigate to the Gearbox installer file. Download and install it. It will run in off-line (no X3 connected) mode and you can work with your original X3 Live data files to retrieve settings. They won't be identical on the HD500 but they will at least be a good starting point for you and you should be able to recreate something close to most of your gavourite tones from the X3 Live.

Hi, I bought a new pod HD500 and still had the old x3 live data (not the device, cause it was stolen); so, do you know if there´s a way to transfer the data to de HD500 or if, at least, there´s a way by which I could open the former files in order to see the presets (with Gearbox, ie?)
