POD UX1 on Garageband

I recently purchased a POD UX1 and installed all the drivers through Line 6 Monkey. I play through garage band and there is alot of dirty noise (white noise like) going on. I was wondering on how I could get a clean sound. Even when I put the compressor and noise gate, the background noise is still present. PLEASE HELP!
