For files for the HD Pro (presets, bundles, setlists), you can mostly simple rename the file extension. If you should find one that does nor work, you can try out my tool: http://www.jzab.de/content/pod-hd

how do i get these patches to work with hd pro, i am getting great clean sounds with the hd pro but never have found great distorted tones 99 percent of the ones on customtone dont sound rite, i am running a matrix gt800 into hd pro and out to 2-hughes kettner 4x12 cabs, thanks for your help

Glad to hear you are enjoying them. I'm actually pretty happy with the patches you mentioned, and some of the Metallica ones. I've tweaked a few. I've started making "pre" versions for some of the high gain tones.

If you've got any good updates, be sure to post them. I know there's a lot of room for improvement. I spent a while trying to get the Randy Rhodes tone, which I could never get right. Much hair pulled. Many patches tweaked for hours then scrapped.

I'm going to start trying to make more organized setlists to start, then dialing in each tone individually. There are lots of good tones on customtone as well. one thread has all of them as a bundle!!!

Hey meambobbo, just wanted to thank you for making these patches available. I'm finding many of them truly inspiring! Great definition and focus; truly showcasing what the HD500 is capable of. My current faves include Steve Vai Uber, Van Halen, and Killswitch (7A)... makes me realize what I could achieve if I spent more than 2 minutes dialling in a tone...

Here's my best patches so far. They are mostly metal, but there are other tones in there. If the guitarist's name is the patch title, it is most likely a lead tone. If it's the band name, it's probably the rhythm tone, but not always.

The first batch of directly attached patches is a clean BF Twin Reverb, 3 Recto rhythm, and one ENGL lead patch. These are just custom patches I made, not emulations of other guitarists.

Finally, I am using a EBMM John Pettrucci (1st model) guitar with its stock pickups (I've heard the bridge humbucker is comparable to a Steve's Special). If the patches sound off, you may have to tweak some EQ before the amp to get closer to the tones I'm getting. I think my settings should work for most guitars though. And I'm monitoring through Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones.

I appreciate your sharing all these tones. I find it interesting how different things work for different people.

To refresh your memory, my rig: HD500>Mesa 50/50/>DT50 412.

No matter how many times I compare...and I have really done it a hundred times, I bet....I always come back to studio/direct and using cabs. I realize the cab simulations are different for studio/direct compared to the other options, but, like I said, I always come back to this because it sounds best to me on my gear. I also use pres *mostly* on the high gain and fulls *mostly* on the cleans.

I didn't take the time yet to try all your tones with the different outputs and cab/no cab, but many of them sound real good right out-of-the-meambobo...lol. Others I will need to futz around with a bit to work with my rig.

looking forward to criticism, negative and positive, so far i've gotten none...which makes me think people aren't digging the tones. i welcome brutally honest feedback, so there's no reason to hold your tongue.

also, please rate the tones on customtone and be sure to mention what the rest of your rig is - these will probably sound better in some scenarios than others.
