I have the same problem but in my sinario its simple not working. i can see midi in and out both working as if i change vol: ort any settings on amp midi in/out light flushes. but nether line6 edit or monkey cant find device. any suggetion?

Well,

I got it to work.

From what I can figure out, my midi in on my delta card does not work.

After hooking the midi in and out to my usb keyboard I finallly got everything to talk to each other.

I tried a couple of keyboards through the midi of the sound card, and the line into the computer does not seem to work.

Therefore the computer could change my flextone 3 , but could not find out what it had changed as it could not receive the information back from the F3

I have checked every setting I could find in the computer, and I assume I have a bad input channel in the delta 2496.

If you download this neat little utility you won't have to worry about which version of Java you have installed as long the one required by Edit is installed. JBuster selects the right version for Edit automatically. Also I would suggest Line 6 Edit version 2.03. After installing the Uno Midisport make sure Uno is your default midi device under sounds and audio devices in control panel. You could also try TweakWizard. It doesn't use java so there are no java worries.

I have the same lack of connection issues.

I cannot get l6e or monkey to recognize the flex3.

The flash memory was updated without recognition and it recognized it good enough to delete my patches, and install the default patches, but it will not recognize the amp.

I have tried installing the latest drivers from m audio for midi and I have tried every combination of java combos when installing the monkey or line 6 edit.

I have 5 hours in this so far. Wow, this is frustrating.

You will need to download and install L6 Edit to get the deep edit capabilites.

There's plenty of posts under the 'old' forum on how to do this...

What are you trying to do with Monkey? It does work with a Flex3 to enable you to change the firmware. If you want to edit patches then you need L 6 Edit (v 2 is better than v3) or Tweakwizard available from the Vettaville site.

There have been lots of posts about people having problems with Midi connections. The Midisport Uno seems to work best . If you search the forum you might find some more info-there was plenty in the old forum

I recently bought a Flextone III amplifier, and tried to connect to it using Line 6 Monkey through the MIDI port. I was unable to connect to the amp, despite trying all combinations of MIDI IN and MIDI OUT cables. The transmit LED on the MIDI interface flashes but no return data seems to come back, the receive LED never lights. I then tried a completely different MIDI interface through a sound card 15 pin port, to eliminate the MIDI interface, which also failed to connect. I tried a different PC in case there was some bizarre timing issue, same result.

In the splash screen that comes up at the start of Line 6 Edit, under CONNECTING WITH MIDI CABLES it says "be sure your POD / Amp is set to MIDI channel 1", how do I make sure the amp is on channel 1? I did a factory reset by holding A and D channels simultaneously and turning the amp on, assuming this would reset it, but no change.

All Line 6 software and Java software has just been downloaded, so it is the most recent.

Is there a circuit diagram available for the Flextone III that shows the MIDI input section? I have a background in electronic engineering so I could trace the signals manually.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
