Have you tried booting up your Mac in 32-Bit mode? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3773

Assuming that there's nothing wrong internally with the X3 Live itself, you should try connecting it to a different computer altogether for a firmware/flash memory update.

It can be done at any computer with Line 6 software installed and a high-speed internet connection. If you encounter the same exact scenario on a totally different computer, I'd start to suspect something wrong internally with the USB-portion of the X3 Live then.

If possible, please try a different host computer. If Monkey "sees" the X3 Live on a different computer, you can update the USB firmware there. But if that's true, then you'll probably want to get your Mac checked out by an Apple Technician for possible USB resource-related issues.

They are both available for free download from our software page below:

 http://line6.com/software/

After successfully installing Line 6 Monkey and the drivers please try removing any additional unnecessary USB and firmware devices from your computer when troubleshooting this issue. Make sure to connect it directly to a USB port and not a USB hub, extension, or keyboard of any kind, preferably connect it to a USB port on the rear of computer. Try using additional USB cables and every USB port available.

Launch Line 6 Monkey and apply any updates that are available.

If you are still having trouble with your USB connection, please refer to our USB Audio Troubleshooting information at the link below:

 http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-4282
