Here's the simplest setup:

- set Input 1 to MIC and Input 2 to something to which a physical device is not connected (e.g. Aux). Do not use your guitar and disconnect it form the HD500.

- plug your mic into the MIC input and adjust the Mic Trim setting until you get a strong but not overpowering incoming signal.

- create a single path preset and disable the amp (you can assign a guitar amp model if you wish but I suggest starting without one).

- add a compressor, one or more EQs, a little reverb and perhaps chorus or delay. Go easy - overprocessed vocals can sound really bad.

- tweak the above FX until you get a sound you like

Hey,

Not too long ago I decided to buy myself a pod hd 500 for guitar purposes and I love it so far, both recording and playing works really well.

A friend told me a couple of days ago that through cubase I should be able to record vocals aswell, so I dug up my old PG58 mic and a cable and hooked it up and it sounds terrible.

I simply cannot figure out how to configure it to record voice as clean as possible, it's all distorted and messed up.

Now this comes for both screaming / growling as well as regular singing, I'm still a noob when it comes to pods but I've done my best in messing around with the settings I just can't get it working any good.

I'm either missing something or this is as good as it gets while recording voice, does anyone have any suggestions on how to set up the most basic voice recording setup?

B.R

Wafx
