Hi Hans, Antonio and David,

As the Vyzex Pocket POD software was developed for Line 6 long before Windows 7 existed, it's no surprise that the supplied support documents don't mention Windows 7 issues or work-arounds.

Hans, the problem you are having is at the driver level as Antonio and David point out, but more specifically it's a disconnect in your particular Windows 7 installation in that the class compliant USB MIDI driver is not being installed properly by the OS itself. This is the first time I have heard of this happening with a Pocket POD, but it's not the first time Psicraft Designs has had a user of one of our other Vyzex editors report this problem occurring on their Windows 7 machine.

I am going to relate for you a fix from Psicraft's Vyzor editor support board (at http://support.vyzor.com) that may just do the trick for you:

Windows 7 Driver issues: With your unit connected, open the Windows Start Menu, right-click over the 'Computer' icon and choose 'Manage' from the pop-up menu. Next select 'Device Manager' from the left column and 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' on the right column. If the driver for your Line 6 PocketPOD device has a yellow exclamation mark next to it or is missing from this listing, then you have a Windows Driver installation problem:

NOTE: Only try these steps if the driver comes up with a yellow exclamation mark!

Right click the Line 6 Pocket POD entry and click "Update Driver Software".

Choose "Browse my computer for driver software".

Search for driver software in this location: "C:\" (or on whatever drive you have Windows installed).

Make sure "Include subfolders" is checked and click next.

Windows will find a driver that isn't digitally signed (very odd since this driver is from Microsoft and is part of Windows 7).

Click "Continue Anyway" and Windows will install the driver.

The wizard should finish with a "Your device has successfully been installed". The Line 6 Pocket POD device should then appear in the device manager without the yellow exclamation mark.

Hans, let us know if this works for you - If it does then I will have this helpful tip added to the troubleshooting guide PDF I have posted and Antonio and David can note this solution for the future.

Cheers,

Tony

It does talk about some Logitech Driver Conflict, and I sought through my Regestry as described, without finding anything. Futhermore the guide speaks only about Windows XP, Vista and NOT about Windows 7 64bit

I am aware that Pocket Pod is NOT an USB Audio Interface ( I use it with a Mbox2 ), but no matter what its USB port is intended for, you can´t use it if Windows cannot install the driver.

So I remain where I started: Windows recognizes that I connected a Pocket Pod, but cannot install the driver.

PS: Please check another version of this post where I managed to upload some screensdumps:http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2518

Still hoping for help I give you my best regards.

Hans

Same thing when I attemp to update the driver.

I´ve tried using Line6 Drivers SetUp via Line 6 Monkey, and it does come up with a long list af drivers but not one for Pocket Pod.

I have used my Pocket Pod on the same hardware (HP Workstation xw6400) using Windows XP without any problems. But after switching to Windows 7 64bit - with no hardware changes - it does not work.

From reading several treads I can see that a lot of people seems to have the exact same problem. Suggested solutions, like using another USB port, another USB cable, made no difference for me.

Please. What am I to do?? Could You please make a driver that will make Pocket Pod work in Window 7, since the Microsoft driver that You say are compliant, really isn´t.

PS! I have tried to attach som jpg screendumps to illustrate my post, but I get a message that says: "The content type of this attachment is not allowed" ???

Best regards

Hans
