That is certainly possible.

Your X3 Tones live on your X3, and Pod Farm lives on your computer. Initially, Pod Farm comes loaded with all the same factory presets that your X3 was loaded with, so they should already be visible to you.

However, any non-factory presets that you have created on your X3 must first be transferred to the Pod Farm Tones folder on your computer. Use Gearbox to do this - simply drag/drop the presets from the Gearbox Hardware Memory window into the Pod Farm Tones folder(s). Once the presets are trnasferred to your Pod Farm 1 or 2 Tones folder they should thereafter be accessible in Pod Farm.

Hi silverhead,

Thank you for helping (again). What I would like to do is:

In my DAW play a dry guitar track & then use the FX bin (VST) to open up any tone I have in my Pod X3 Live and audition different tones & select the best one. (This saves me having to use many guitar tracks to create a variety of choices over the tone I ultimately choose)

I can see Pod Farm & Pod Farm 2.51 in my DAW FX bin but cannot access my own created tones from the Pod X3 Live.

Am I trying to do something it's not designed to do?

Thanks again,

Adam.

There are several questions there, and the answers depend on some other things. So let's start....

First of all, Pod Farm 1 Platinum is included with all X3 purchases, and from what you say I presume you already have that and have used it. Pod Farm1 will 'see' your Pod Farm 2 tones after you include the Pod Farm 2 installation folder in your Pod Farm 1 list of Tone folders.

Pod Farm 2 is a seperate product. Installing Pod Farm 2 does not replace or update Pod Farm 1. They both live together and independently on your computer. So your Pod Farm 1 tone files will be accessible in PF 2 in the same way.

If you purchased Pod Farm 2 then you should have no problem running it with your X3 attached - but if you did not purchase Pod Farm 2 Platinum then you will have only the basic Pod Farm 2 amps and FX available; you will not be able to use all the amps/FX that you have been using in PF1.

If you did not purchase Pod Farm 2 (that is, if you simply downloaded it) it will probably not work at all.

... and if you are talking about Pod Farm 2.5 then you will also need to run the License Manager to authorize your PF installation on your PC.

Clear as mud?? OK then, let us know what is actually happening when you try to use PF2 in Sonar.
