Time that we can add cabs + mics without the need of an extra amp to save DSP.

I'm sure the next pod will be a HD500 II with double DSP power and memory.

I'd like to know how many amp sims may fit into the HD500 besides we know from fw 2.0.

FWIW I now use dual amp tones most of the time. Same amp. Different cab/mic choices. My favorite combo is the Tread V-30 + 57 on axis with XXL V-30 + 57 off axis. I like to vary the EQ settings a bit on each amp, so there's not too strong of an overlap. I like the bass/punch/warmth of the XXL with the clean highs and presence of the Tread v-30, but sometimes you have to dial in a little overlap, or it sounds like something is missing.

I am a fan of the Engl amp sim. I always use the TreadplateV30 with 421mic because the XXLV30 sounds too passive-no mids at all (Of course you can eq a lot). In my opinion the 57'er mics sounds flat and makes the guitar sound not so nice. Sometimes it sounds also good with the 412Ueber and 412 mic.

I want to add that the engl amp is the one that does not sound thin even when used without power amp sim (full). It sounds best if the master volume is moderate (50%, sometime more, but 100% only as a special effect.

But: Absolutely great sound in the video, especially as the 1st sound.

will try that for sure this was really my first tone on the HD. i didnt go in depth with this one.

Ive noticed that even when i have the exact same preset as someone else it sounds different. Its not like your regular GuitarRig sound that sounds the same on every guitar. So what sounds got with your guitar wont be the same on mine... i think...

nice work - really sounds nice with a tight quad track.

I'm not a huge fan of the XXL V30 - did you try it with the Treadplate V30? You will need to EQ it to get in the same ballpark - I recommend a parametric EQ with a low Q and frequency at 40% and gain turned down a bit. Then turn up the lows and turn down the highs until you get in the same ballpark. You might want to turn the amp treble down a little bit too.
