i have talked to them about this on numerous occasions... and the reasoning is that they want users to find the official answers first.

i get that... but i do wish it was easier to find the forum posts...

what i tend to do is use the instant search... and select from the posts that appear when you start typing... rather than actually hitting enter on the search terms...

as you can see if you are already in a certain part of the forum you can still limit the search....

Wow, that really helps! Thank you! It's too bad they make things here LESS obvious, unlike other forums like say the Gearslutz forum, which uses a very common setup that is time tested and easy to use

I noticed that a few people recently have been searching for information in this forum and have not had much luck. This is because the default search options within the forum software are not ideal for searching the forum. They are set up for searching 'documents'-only and across all of the forums.

Most questions that people ask have an answer here ... if only you can find it !!

A quick note then on how to search most effectively for all information in the POD HD forum - documents and forum posts. ...

1) Use the search box in the diagram below, (with the arrow pointed at it). Ignore the one at the top of the window unless you can't find what you need in the forum. Type in the words you want to search for and hit the return key, or click the little magnifying glass icon to the right to start the search

2) Initially, you will see the result for documents only and the search will be across all forums. To get more/better results:

Click the 'More Options' button under the (search text).
Type 'POD HD' into the box entitled 'Retrict to a Space, Project or Group' and press Return. This restricts the search to the POD HD Forum
Click on the 'All' Button. This includes forum discussions and other resources alongside the 'Documents' that have been published.

That is it ! Lets do an example then. The search is for 'Cheese' . Type it into the search box indicated above and hit the Return key to search for it.

Now select 'More options' ...

... set 'Restrict to a Space, Project or Group ' to 'POD HD' ... (type it in or select it from the dropdown) ...

... and click on all.

The results now should show all references to 'Cheese' within the POD HD Forum.
