It means using the power amp level to control onstage sound.

Can anyone verify if this is a software of hardware issue? If software, is there a 'possibility' of having a fixed made if enough demand?

I guess the other way around it is to mix both channels to centre, use XLR Left for power amp (mono) and XLR Right for PA (mono). Would this work? Unless one of the two (power amp or PA) needs heaps more volume than the other, the master volume should send an even mix to both. Even a boost/cut in the mixer of that channel?

Cheers

Thanks for the replies. Yes, it answered my question. Unfortunately, the answer is that the 1/4" and XLR outputs are now tied together.

I have found a way around it, but it's not optimal. I run my POD HR PRO into a poweramp then into a 4x12 cab using the 1/4" outputs then use the XLR's to go straight into the PA system. Right now I have just been soundchecking with my poweramp volume set at 50% that way if I need extra stage volume during the volume during the show, I just increase the volume on my poweramp. Has to be done this way since I can't touch the POD master volume after soundcheck or the soundman would not be happy with me.

Was nice before when with my old POD PRO 2.0 that the master volume only controlled the output of the 1/4" and did nothing to the XLR outputs going to the PA. Would be nice if this feature could be toggled with a future software update as I figure most people are using the XLR outputs the same way I am....if they even use them. Any signal going to the PA.....the soundman wouldn't want you messing with it after getting a good level at soundcheck.

An important one to me and hopefully can be fixed in a future SW update.

thanks

The other way to do is simply use the master volume on your amp to control your on stage amp volume, leave the POD HD master volume at full so it feed a nice signal to the PA.

We haven’t heard back from you, so we're going to assume your question has been answered. If it has been answered, please consider awarding points to whoever was helpful and/or answered the question so they get the formal recognition.

In the event your issue has not been resolved, we have generated a support ticket for you so we can continue to communicate. Should you need further assistance, please respond to the ticket. With us talking via the ticket, I will mark this thread answered.

Q: What is a support ticket?

A: A support ticket allows you to directly correspond with a Line 6 Support Representative. An email will be sent to you from Line 6 containing a link to the ticket when a Line 6 Support Representative responds to it. Please follow the link in the email to view your open ticket to work one on one with Line 6 Support. Also, in your account, click My Account, then click Support Tickets to view the support ticket. Here’s a shortcut:

 http://line6.com/account/tickets/view/.

Please note: Sometimes support ticket notifications will be filtered to spam and junk folders. If you did not receive an email from us indicating that a ticket has been created, please make sure to check those folders in your email host, and also that your email account is receiving messages at all. You may also consider adding Line 6 to your safe senders list.

I figured I would get that answer but was hoping I had overlooked something and the outputs were not tied together. i wonder if they are tied together in software or hardware. Would be nice if Line 6 could put out a software patch to be able to configure what outputs you would like the master volume to act upon. I'm a bit dissapointed they have changed this feature from the old POD Pro 2.0. I'm sure soundmen don't want guitar players varying the XLR signal to the PA mixing board.

Rick

One main feature of my old unit was that master volume only controlled output to 1/4" output jacks which I feed to my 4x12 cab. The master changed nothing on the XLR outputs that I run to the mixer in a live situation. I liked that since I could use the Master volume to control my Cab volume without changing anything for the soundman on my XLR outputs. Is it possible to do this with the Pod HD Pro? I hooked up the HD to the PA and my Cabinet last night and noticed that the Master volume now adjusts the volume to the 1/4" AND the XLR outputs.

Thanks
