Hi, i was able to get things to function the way i wanted by using the FBV pedal and using the Stomp button the turn on a gain boost and using the midi function to turn on my solo channel on my amp thus not having to change presets. Now the FBV is too small in terms of instant access controls so i hooked up my VooDoo lab ground control pro so i can have a switch for all the effects i use plus 4 presets and the solo boost but the extra midi function in the HD Pro does not work now, where you can assign each pedal a midi command along with an effect. how do i get this functionallity to work with a different midi controller. This would be perfect and my troubles would be over.

Thanks!

Ok, back to square one.

Because the "glitch" when you change patches is extreme while you're hooked up and have the editing software running.

Hi Scott

As with any modeller there is bound to be a tiny break in signal flow when you change presets, and the POD HD500/HD Pro are no different.

The break in signal will possibly be noticeable if you are in the habit of leaving notes to ring through the transition.

It may be that units made by other manufacturers have a shorter or longer transition between presets and if shorter, it may be less noticeable, or maybe other units can benefit from using something called effects trails which cover the gap.

I've never been in the habit of leaving notes ringing when changing presets, so for someone like me it's not noticeable for 99% of the time.

As far as I'm aware the latency gap is not something that is user editable. You may be able to disguise it by incorporating a third party FX pedal such as delay in your signal chain, or you may be able to shorten it by reducing the DSP overhead (i.e. giving it less to load up).

Your probable best solution is to mute the guitar as you change to a new patch.

I realise these suggestions might not be what you want to read, but they might help nevertheless. Sorry.

Nick

I have 4 basic presets that i use either direct and an identical set of 4 presets that i use with my mesa mark V head using the 4 cable method. When switching between presets there is an obvious break during the switch or a delay or whatever you want to call it. Its not so bad while practicing at home but live i have had people ask if i had a bad cable because of this. when checking everything out i checked it going direct and it does the same thing just a quick stop when i hit the button it will also do it when i hit the button for the preset already loaded. what can i do to stop this?

Thanks,

Scott Lister
