Pod X3 Pro USB audio dropout when changing presets

Recently, audio from my USB connection to and from Pod X3 Pro and my computer has been dropping out when I change presets on the Pod. Three days ago, the Pod was randomly restarting itself, with boot up screen showing Line 6, then would start working again. This happened a few times then stopped happening. The next day, when I changed presets on Pod, all audio from the USB connection dropped out. This continues to happen with a seemingly random frequency. Sometimes I can change presets multiple times before audio drops out. It seems possible that the longer the unit has been running, the sooner audio will drop out when I change preset. This seems to happen whether I change the preset from the knob on the Pod, Gearbox, or with a MIDI controller I use to change the preset.

I use the Pod X3 Pro for my audio interface, so I am usually sending guitar and vocals to my computer and sending audio playback from Ableton Live to Pod and out to monitors. This is obviously a huge problem for me, as I use the Pod for all audio during performance. I also use the Pod as a general sound interface for my computer to send sound to monitor speakers, so I have used the Pod frequently nearly everyday for the past year since I bought it. Please advise on the best way to solve this problem. Thanks very much!

Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.8, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
