+1 to Zap,

This is one of those usages that is "theoretically" possible but could lead to problems. The best thing to do is to select the 500 as your sound card in Pro Tools and connect your speakers to it. Keep in mind that you can also select it in Windows and make it the primary sound card for your system.

what you want to do is aggregate your soudcards (basically use 2)

the answer is you really shouldn't bother as you'll introduce latency...

you want the input and output controlled from a single piece of hardware, not controlled by multiple hardware clocks.

windows doesn't support this and you really have to dig around and do lots of tweaking and hacking to make it work...

not really worth it....

mac's do support this natively and has better results... although still not recommended for the reasons above.

Hi i have a line 6 Pod HD500 here im using for a project at the moment, ive noticed that when i use the USB connection Pro Tools 10 recognizes the pod and uses the i/o for it.

i was wondering if there is a way to change this so that i still use the input from the pod but the output stays in the computer and out through the headphone jack, rather then bening sent back to the pod?
