A bad cable? Interference from something close by getting into your house powerlines.

Ye this is strange.

I'm starting to think that the amp is not the only problem...

As I said before I got the same noise with another older guitar with ordinary pickups. Therefore I jumped to the conclusion that the amp is the problem, however I get the same noise when playing wiht my LINE 6 GX hooked up to my computer. Is there anything that can interfere with both non- and active pickups?

I'm really getting a headache by all this?!?"?!?"?!?#??"¤?#Q¤

Sounds like you may need to bring this to an authorized service center so they can evaluate the problem.

It mostly seems to follow the Drive.

When drive is set all the way down the noise dissapears.

What happens when you try changing the various knob-settings (turn the gain down, for example) - any change to the noise?

Didn't work, I think it even made it worse

If it's to any help the crackling noise is sounding constantly on the B factory preset.

Well atleast I know how to make a factory reset now.

First try a factory reset - hold the A or Clean button in while turning on the power.

I heard this same clicking sound eons ago with the very first tube amp I built. You see I had a nasty accident with an old Coleman lantern that exploded on me and sprayed me with naphtha and I got 2nd & 3rd degree burns to my right hand. As a result of that I always wear my watch on the right wrist. Well it took awhile to figure out what were this strange clicking noise was coming from. The guitar pick-ups were picking it up from my battery powered watch.

Ok so I have a Spider IV 30W and have had for about two years (I think)...

Today when I started playing I heard a strange clicking/distortion sound when a note is dying or "ringing out" (every time)

However the sound isn't present when playing on a more clean preset.

I guess the noise is there all the time just that I can't hear it when I'm playing.

Except that it's a bit lower and more "guitardistorted"

I've been using the same setup on the amp for about six months so it isn't any problem with to much gain or such.

It isn't the guitar nor the pickups because I've tried two different guitars (one with active pickups and one normal)

and it's still the same noise.
