It sounds like you need some very basic stuff to get you started. Can I suggest that you download the "HD500 Quick Start guide" from the page here and work through it. http://line6.com/support/manuals/podhd500

Also this is a video showing you how to build a basic preset if that is what you are trying to do. http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2525

Try these and see how you get on.

Not sure how you expect to get any sound with the master at 0%...

ok im like a total noob, Just got my pod hd 500.

but I cant get the pedal to work

on the screen :

-The Drive , BASS , MID , Treble .. volume and master is all 0%

-" Amp knobs (momentary)"

- and next to 1 - "amp disabled"
