I searched for any known problems before installing line 6 drivers to use GuitarPort with GarageBand on my shiny new MacBookPro (OSX Mountatin Lion, 10.8.2). Despite all the negative feedback here, I went ahead.

I am happy to report it is working well!

Hey guys, I'm coming to say goodbye! Thanks a lot for the company these months. I'm moving to a new device, new life. It's been more than 6 months without a minute recorded without those explosion in my ear and I got pretty tired of it.

Hope you guys make a little money to escape from this too.

Here is the end of my suport ticket that was opened on Sep 21th:

DEAR HUGO,

Didn't work.

First when I tried to update using Monkey the app was shuting down (tried to reboot the system a lot times...) I'm sending it atached.

Then I installed the new driver. Recorded for 5 minuts and then it exploded once again with that big noise that goes fading away in 30 seconds. After it's gone when I say something on the mic it has a little pop too.

And this was the end of the line for me. The end of Line6 2. I'm really impressed with the **** support you and your crew gave me and the other users.

Not only took more than 6 months to release a new driver but there was the lack of transparency and the absence of true information for us.

You may shut this support ticket down because I'm throwing this device on the trash now. I'll never buy Line6 products and will try to tell everyone about this pleasant story we had.

So long, thanks for nothing.

The distortion problem was fixed for me with the latest drivers BUT now UX2 stops responding sometimes. No sound, nothing. Have to restart the computer to start working again.

Any news on this?

Problem unfixed for me too with 7.2.1 driver !!shame on you guys ! it's unbelievable!

I have replaced my line6 audio interface with a product from a competitor!

Too late.

If only Line6 could at least response with a sign of life the past MONTHS of complaints. Instead they have been ignorant and absent.

I totaly and I mean completely lost my trust in Line6 customer support for being ignorant for months.
I got rid of my Line6 products and I'm happy, no more Line6 for me, ever.

Maybe this posts gets deleted but that would confirm my feeling about this company.

We have just released our latest Mac driver v7.2.1 for Mac OS X to fix the problem where USB Devices become unresponsive after using POD Farm, recording/playback in a DAW, or using other audio programs.

This driver also includes changes which may improve the noise or distortion issues some OS X 10.8 customers have experienced.
