I've updated the drivers, but nothing is fixed for me... I'm very very very disapointed and I'm not going to wait for another two months to have an new driver that may not even fix the issue. This might be the end of a 10+ years use of Line6 products.

Edit : in fact, each time I hit a key on my keyboard (not the piano type, the azerty/qwerty type), sounds pops, skips, stops, bumps...

So you've tried the latest Mac driver v7.1.9 (released today) which reportedly fixes distorted audio playback on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion?

Thank goodness it's not just me! I have the same problem - like the rest of you, updating the drivers and fiddling with the buffer size has not fixed it.

I'm sitting looking at a very expensive thing that doesn't work!

I'm also getting the popping and cracking noise after upgrading the Mac OSX to Mountain Lion. My interface is the Toneport UX1 and I use GarageBand for recording. I have updated to the latest drivers and still no resolution. I have also noticed that the Line 6 Monkey app no longer is detecting the Toneport. At this point I'm assuming this is a Line 6 driver issue and hope it gets resolved real soon or I'm not going to be happy.

Hi everyone,

I came here looking for answers to the same problem and so far didn't find any. However, when I opened up Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices under System Preferences I saw that my USB Audio Streaming buffer size was set to Extra Small. I increased this to Medium and the problem instantly went away. Please try this and see if it solves your issue, it may be a one-time solution but if it works for everyone then I'm sure it will save a lot of headaches.

EDIT: I may have spoken too soon. It appears to solve the problem but after a few minutes, the problem returns. So I suppose that won't work. Hmmmm...

I can answer that. No, that's not the problem. At least, not on the user level. It is very likely a problem with the drivers
