Yep. That's the whole idea behind using latch mode. You have six scenes available to you right away. You just tap the footswitch where the scene is saved, and it brings up the scene instantly.

The question then becomes how easy is it to instantaneously access any of the 3 live scenes?

Well, you could save different scenes for your clean/crunch/distortion sounds and leave the M9 in latch mode. I actually find latch mode to be more convenient in a live setting anyway, because it lets you change scenes with one button push. If you do need to go into a scene, all you do is hit the 3A and Tap switch together. Also, if you do this, you could keep you distortion effect in the first effects slot, and then use the other two for delay or mods or whatever.

Can I use the M9 as a midi swither for my Marshall 6101 and a distortion box for my Fender Vibroverb at the same time?

I want to setup a scene with a clean/crunch/dist setup and when I hit those pedals on the M9 it switches to the correspoding amp channel on my 6101. Is that even possible?

Also can I use the stereo outs to go to each amp but have one of the outputs ISO'ed and ground lifted?

Mmmm... so I would have to switch scenes on the M9 to change channells on the Marshall? Is that practical in a live situation?

I was hoping to have one "for live use" scene with the 3 lower left pedals assigned clean/crunch/dist left to right and have those switch the corresponding Marshall channels as well. Then I can take my Marshall channel swicher out of my pedal board and hopefully get rid of my dreaded Boss GigaDelay as well!

From looking at the manual for 6101, it looks like you'd be able to do what you want to do. The Marshall allows you to send different MIDI PC messages to it, and you can have it so it saves a specific channel on the amp with that PC message. The M9 has 24 scenes and each scene has a specific PC messages associated with (see the Advanced Guide for these), so you could have it set up so that when you select one of the scenes on the M9, it brings up the desired channel on the Marshall. As far as connecting both amp via stereo, that shouldn't be a big deal. You may or may not have an issue with noise.
