I always have that in my profile when Hollies told me to change my profile i noticed that i had a flag for updates just like you i unticked it and reticked it just in case and updated my profile but i flag for much more then just updates before i updated and got to know about this update via a forum thread

Guess what new firmware released no e-mail from Line6 but since i changed my e-mail setting i got e-mail on every discussion so i got the info there.

Also strange that this update is not on the frontpage like many other "news"

Well i have signed up for all E-mail i have got som advertising stuff the last couple of months maybe 3 perhaps.

Anyway i change the notification in the preferences lets see whats happens when the new update finally releses.

Guitarmaniac, you need to go to your profile (edit my profile) and go the page for "edit my email preferences". I always get emails when the updates are ready.

You can also simply "Like" Line6 on Facebook and I'm sure you will get updates there.

Maybe by your logic Line 6 should buy a superbowl ad to advertise the new update but I guess people that don't watch football would be discriminated against and not be able to know about the update.

Actually on second thought, Guitarmaniac, give me your personal cell phone number. When, and if, the update every comes, I promise I will personally call you and let you know. Don't sign up for any of those other things I mentioned or bother coming back to the forum to check. I'll let you know, bro.

Line6 act like Apple do

Absolutely no info to the users about whats happening in the update front

That make almost everyone i guessing and speculating and more important WANT the new update so bad beacuse now it is so hyped.

And then out of nothing they release the new update without notify customers via e-mail about the update.

I have been a customer for many years and i have NEVER recieved an e-mail about any updates.

I suppose Line6 is counting that everyone is WAITING for that update and therefore check the website frequently or have their gear hooked up via Line6 monkey software?

Well my studio computer doesnt have an internetconnection luckily i can unplug my POD and hook it up on my internet computer but what about those who have their gear in a rehearsal room?.

And what about those people who doesnt use internet that much maybe only for e-mailing corresponding (they do exist)

They will never know about the firmware update.

Really bad Line6 this is NOT how you should treat your customers.

I hope they're not just trying to minimize signs that point towards the update so that more disgruntled 500 onwers can't see an update that points to the "lesser" models. Afterall, the 300 and 400 users got the email that informs them of the update. O well...I'm still enjoying the hell out out of the HD500.
