I didn't try a USB 2.0 hub, I could do that. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now, the part that really disturbs me; all USB ports die!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The USB controller stops working until I restart my computer.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;And the IO USB Controller driver in OSX is outputting a console message:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;table&gt;&lt;tbody&gt;&lt;tr&gt;&lt;td style=";"&gt;1/1/12 7:11:46.000 AM kernel[0]: USBF:&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td style=";"&gt;1046.276&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td style=";"&gt;AppleUSBXHCI[0xffffff81c472c000]::UIMRootHubStatusChange - HSE bit set:5 (1)&lt;/td&gt;&lt;/tr&gt;&lt;/tbody&gt;&lt;/table&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now, doing a search on Google for "UIMRootHubStatusChange" yields a few results.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Doing a search on "UIMRootHubStatusChange HSE bit" returns only one hit, this forum thread.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Some investigative work with Google leads me to believe that this issue is not unique to Line 6 (although I can't confirm if it is the same problem, or only similar symptoms) so I'm not entirely blaming Line 6.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;BUT! Line 6, you really need to investigate this! Get your engineers to find out why the hell the USB controller driver stops working!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;And that USB troubleshooting guide is of no help whatsoever. This is not a user error in any way, this is a hardware/OS/driver error. And you really should look into it, or soon no Mac users will want to buy your devices.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:c607e744-b8d1-4611-8a40-13013541df05] --&gt;</description>
