I see it's a Crown poweramp, but could you specify the exact model and how the inputs work from the pod to the amp?

Dude, it was terrible. I tried for an hour or so and just said fukkit. So, I fixed it by running from the HD outs to the M9 then out to the poweramp! All in stereo! Also ran a MIDI cord from the HD to the M9 and it follows the HD perfectly! Totally fixed my DSP shortage, now ALL of my patches are dual amped!! HUGE sound!

Hi...update time!

WOW...thank you so much for your clear knowledge at the top of this thread...this is the reason I love L6 & more importantly this forum and the people on it! Without your look at 'page 1, page 2, page 3etc....' insight I might never have gotten the best out of this unit and I considered myself to be fairly good with L6 gear...thanks to you I now just got a whole lot better!

I've gone from using the studio/direct mode to combo/front (seems to work really well for me?), switch on back to amp, & experimenting/playing with the '2,3,4' options on page 4...not sure if I'd have ever changed to guitar to 'auto' & inputs to 'global' on page 3 without your tip...obviously I tweaked the settings for the Hz etc and set things to my ear/taste but without your pointers I would have been messing around for weeks, maybe months possibly without ever realising..you have saved me loads of time and put a smile on my face...this unit is indeed GREAT...I'm at the begining of my tone journey with it but I'm really going to enjoy it!.

All I've done so far is put the Treadplate Pre into a 'new tone' patch (no cab sim) and played with the bass middle trebgble etc...before it sounded muddy, flabby and sometimes fizzy...but once I payed with your suggestions on the input/output pages on the i/o menu the thing has jumped into life... I realise this is where the key lies, my new (second hand) 2x12 arrived this morning, Genz Benz G-Flex 2x12, and the whole thing sounds HUGE!

It sounds good at low volume but once cranked to 'live' ie: slightly louder than the drummer then it sounds massive...this is even before I've put a single effect/eq on it....normally, due to the Fletcher Munsun' effect patches which sound amazing at low volumes sound like garbage when turned up loud...all I needed to do here was back off the drive, bass and mids a bit and it sounds big bold full and.....at last WARM!

Just found more DSP space! Moved the M9 completely out of the loop and put it between the poweramp and the POD HD! The effects loop leaves a lot to be desired anyway, hope they fix it in the update! Now, everything sounds clearer. Another thing is I am using my MKI shortboard just to see how much I can get away with. The main thing that sucks is the wah/vol pedal have to have an FX block to work. Again, the update! But, I can program FS1, FS2, FS3 and FS4 to work on stomp, mod, delay and reverb. The cool thing is, once you programmed them to turn off and on you can move them anywhere in the chain and it still controls them! Still looking for more stuff...

Hi, sorry yes I meant "line" thats twice I've got that wrong...not easy when you dont have the thing in front of you to look at, I'm well versed with L6...like all of us have a bit of a love hate thing with them, didn't see how axe fxII justify the price so went for hd pro, very early days with it at the moment...I'm going to keep 'line' engaged full stop an build patches from there. I still have my Digitech 2120 artist which I love, but it is old...but very very good...the POD needs to be able to match this which it should be able to do and some!

Going back to basics with it tomorrow, build an amp from scatch probably the Plexi lead or backed off Engl or Mesa....put your ideas into effect and see what happens, update you tomorrow.

Good deal bro! Yeah, I got the 2x12 for the same reason! The good thing about Line 6, is the options! Everybody has a different rig, guitar, cab, etc. so everybody has an option they can use. When you find the right settings for you it works great. I'm still kinda tweaking here and there, but I will post everything when I'm done. The "lift" button is for the ground, do you mean "line"? I use "line" on mine. The XLR balanced out has both mic/line and lift/grnd, the unbalanced has only line/amp. I'll be in touch...

Thanks for your reply much appreciated, the L6 forum has so many 'great' people on it willing to share their highs & lows and help out. I dip in from time to time as and when I get L6 stuff and this is always my first port of call!

Your set up is so similar to mine..or will be, I'm selling my 4x12 and getting a 2x12!! easier to carry around for gigs plus I'll be going into the PA.

I'm going to try your suggestions tomorrow and let you know how I get on....I'm going to be selling the Rocktron Velocity 300 and buying a Matrix gt1000fx flat response power amp and try that out..

I'd left page 4 pretty much alone and just used what ever settings come up when you scroll through the options ie: stack font, power amp, combo amp...so I'll do as you say and play with those a bit and see what sounds best...but I'll go with your suggestion first.

A small mistake on my first post...I said 'direct' and what I ment was 'lift'....ie the switch next to the outputs on the back....'amp' just seemed to kill everything and 'lift' did exactly that....lifted everything....I guess its just a matter of kinda 'ignoring' how L6 describe their i/o options and just try them all and tweak until you get something that sounds right to your own ears?!

Please let me know how you get on with you tweaking, your rig is almost mine!...I'll let you know how i get on.
