Actually, when you reset the global parameters it does not update any presets. It changes the setlist names to factory defaults without changing any presets. So if you chose to keep your existing presets when updating the firmware, and then reset the globals, your previous setlist names (not presets) are replaced by the factory default setlist names. This can be confusing because the setlist names may now no longer correspond to the presets contained in the setlist.

When you do the hardware reset (aka "Global Settings Reset") by holding down the left arrow of the Nav key while powering up, there is nothing displayed on the HD500 nor does it behave any differently from a normal power up sequence.

(I think) the only way to know it happened is you'll notice the presets are set back to "defaults" so be sure to save your presets or a bundle.

I've been updating my POD HD without problems here's what you need to do if you don't want to run into problems:

1-Update Firmware

2- Perfrom hardware reset by pressing the Left arrow button as you power on pod. If you don't do that your pod might misbehave

3-Calilberate Pedal.

That's it, I bet most people who ran into problems didn't follow these instructions as they should. For more detail

So far so good. I use the Variax 300 and have had issues to date with Firmware 2.1

I looked at thre recent threads, but could not see anything in the titles, so I posted my own. Usually the recent topics (from the last 2-3 days) are listed, and 2.1 FWdefinietly was not one of them.

Didn't try it with my Variax, but I ran through a bunch of presets with my DT-25 hooked up via L6 Link last night, and it worked fine.
