There have been numerous threads here asking the same question and Line 6 has recommended that the cabinet always be left plugged in to prevent any possible overload/imbalance - if you unplug the DI line, or forget to plug it in before turning on the amp, there is always a slight possibility of damaging the output section of the amp.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:dbab5dc4-c1fa-47c1-9061-e6bc7bd64824] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:5744021f-4dc1-46f7-bccb-3556a168aa25] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;I was wondering if it is all right to use the 150 watt spider IV head with out the cabinet attached to it. When I purchaed this amp from a local music store the owner of the store said not to use the head with out the cab being plugged in because it will break the head. I want to use the head with out the cabinet sometimes because it is such a pain to move the cabinet back and forth and there is a studio trx out on the back of the&amp;#160; head that I use sometimes which turns the cab off I think.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:5744021f-4dc1-46f7-bccb-3556a168aa25] --&gt;</description>
