Regarding the FW comments, I thought a new version had released. I was mistaken in thinking that 2.21 HD 500 Edit firmware was flash memory 2.21. Sorry for the confusion but thanks again for your help.

I went from 1.3 right to 2.1 without issue. It worked great, easy to do! I am new to the HD500 but man-oh-man some of the added amp models are fantastic...

No - no need to do it stpewise. Install v 2.1 directly from whatever version you are currently at.

There are lots of comments re: v2.1 in the discussion forum - just do a quick look/search. The Soldano amp model is receiving rave reviews.

Hi all,

Sorry if the answer to this is obvious but it wasn't to me..

I have't upgraded FW on my HD 500 for quite a while. Now that 2.21 is out, my question is do I need to upgrade FW in stages or step from 1x to 2.21 to gain all the amp models and features added by the interim levels of FW or can I just upgrade to current?

Has anyone tried 2.21 yet? Any comments on it?
