If you have connection to your PC it is o.k.

Important: What does monkey say? What is up to date?

Unplug your POD from USB and see if the sound is there. Maybe your driver has not been configured. If you disconnect from USB you can see if the pc suppresses the sound, or if the device does not play.

Pedal calibration is only important for sounds which use expression pedal.

You can do the reset at any time, but must be at least after firmware update.

Check your input and output configurations.

Let's see forward.

Plugged into the front- any high gain patches will be very noisy and feed back in an unpleasant way. Lower all the gains using the editor and try again.I don't know if the Spider half stack(head and cab?) have effect loops. The combos do not. My original Flextone sounds really good with my HD300 plugged into it's effect loop reurn(input). The only solid state amp that should be reissued. One of the best units ever produced by Line 6! Good Luck!

I have a POD HD 500 and the same happend to me once or twice 1 or 2 years ago. There must be a thread I can remember at that time, where a view people also mentioned this. All I can say is that it never happend again after updating the firmware. If you haven't already done, you should do so.

Important hints:

You must have the driver and monkey installed. Download the newest versions.

With my HD500, the HD 500 Edit installation already contains the installation of Monkey and the driver. I personally would prefer to do it seperately, because of always having the newest version:

- Download the newest manuals.

- Download an install the newest driver with your POD HD 300 disconnected from USB. When you will be prompted to connect the POD, you can do so.

- Download and install the newest version of monkey, unmark the installation of the driver, because it has been already installed.

- Download and install HD 300 Edit, unmark monkey and driver installation. You do not need to disconnect or restart your PC here again as mentioned, because the driver aready had been installed before, and you have unchecked the driver installation inside HD 300 Edit installation process.

- Start HD 300 Edit and save your own created patches.

- Start Monkey and do the firmware update. You could also download the newest firmware and update the firmware from another location, where you have downloaded and saved the firmware file.

- While firmware update, answer NOT to keep you patches.

- After successful firmware update don't forget to do a factory reset and pedal recalibration, or your device may show strange symptoms in some situations.

http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2043

http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2044

- Now you can restore your own patches over HD 300 Edit.

The volume was abnormally loud, may have bloody ears..

Anyway, I have been brousing threads for quite a while and, am not finding anything like this.

My output setting is on Live, output on Amp.

Any thoughts would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!!
