My DT25 had exactly the same problem out of the box. But replacing the power tubes with new ones fixed the crackling sound.

@tal: as you might have guessed, lack of time is my main problem at the moment. We are in the final release phase in my day job so there currently is not room for side projects. Just after easter I'll be working again on the editor. Promised.

tmikey101: I can't say it will work for everyone with weird noises, but my DT25 combo made odd noises when I would hold certain notes on the guitar and I'd hear some sort of bzzzzzz. It didn't matter how loud the note was struck either. Anyway, rather than take a THIRD amp back (that's right, 3) I bought a new set of Electro Harmonix tubes. Problem solved. I think Line6 is cutting corners on parts IMHO.

Rolf, I replied a couple of days ago and had said that I was getting some weird noises from the amp so I disconnected. Well, the noises had nothing to do with your app. It seems the DT25 which I purchased in Nov. '12 is having tube issues already!

I'm really looking forward to a release which will allow saving and restoring presets. That would be most excellent. Please keep us posted. Any idea when that may be?

Rollo...nice job so far looking forward to first real release. I was messing around a little bit this evening for about a half hour...starting gertting some undesirable and unexpected sounds coming from my DT25 so I disconnected will continue to experiment and give feedback. Thanks for the awesome effort so far!

Hi, let me begin by saying I really apreciate what you have done.

Are you still working on the few missing (not yet working) features?

theoptimizers seems to have found out how to get it done for the Mac, iPad and even iPhone.

Maybe he will give you the needed info if you ask?

It would be really cool if your application could have the same kind of functionallity.

If you don't have the time to do it maybe other people will want to help out. I wish I could.

OK, I think it's ready for release. It's my first Mac app, but I think it works pretty well. And it's a great tool to explore the DT50. Here is what it looks like...

You can check out and modify the amp's settings, and the app keeps a copy that you can save later use. You can even save the knob settings, if you find a combination you like. But, you'll have to explicitly store these.

You can also generate a report that shows all the settings. It looks like this...

The report is in Word XML format. So, you can print it with a version of Word that can read this format. Most PC versions can do this easily. But, I have had trouble doing it on a Mac. If any Mac users know how to read a Word XML format file, please let me know.

Hi DTers,

I've uploaded a new version. It fixes some minor bugs and the editor now recognizes the amp and it's firmware version.

My day job was really demanding in the last few weeks so I had not much time to add new stuff to the editor. But now I've got some time to spend so development will speed up again.
