I don't know if this will help but try it anyway: It looks like the monitoring option in Cubase is set to Tapemachine Style and this means you hear the recorded (output) signal and not the input signal. I don't use Cubase anymore but check the monitoring settings in Cubase (probably located in the preferences menu option under the File menu).

Likely someone will phrase this better than me, as my recording experience is limited, but it sounds like what you're hearing is caused by monitoring live from the HD500 and from your DAW at the same time.

What Silverhead says is the right way to do it. Live monitoring from the HD500 means you hear what you play as you play it, not slightly delayed by the latency in your DAW, which can be very offputting.

As long as your DAW is set up correctly, it will compensate for the latency and still record in time with any other tracks or backing track or whatever.

I'm not sure what the problem is. The recommended setup is to turn monitoring OFF in your DAW (Cubase) and monitor the sound using the HD500, which becomes your soundcard. Connect your speakers (or headphones) to the HD500.

I think the symptom you describe is a result of latency caused by the Cubase monitoring.

I tried to record my play with my pod hd500.

Recording connection : guitar->pod hd500->usb->labtop.(just direct recording & pod hd500 was used as an audio interface)

Recoding software : Cubase 5.0

Symptom : When I set one channel in Cubase for guitar and turned on monitoring button, then guitar tone & sound was changed.(volume increased little bit and added high reverbe likes cave echo..)

When I turned off monitoring button, then tone & sound were back to normal. I can hear the change just pushing the button everytime.

I tried to change input/output settings and turn on/off cabinet simulation and so on....But symptom is still not cleared.

Is it a problem of my pod hd500 hardware?
