Spot on, Jim, that's exactly what I do with pretty much everything I sell. Another trick (for any searchable electronic advert) is to look at exactly what words have been included in the title of the adverts that have the highest sold prices, that way you should be able to maximise the visibility and therefore sale price of your gear, too.

That's an excellent tip Jim. For what it's worth, here in Australia I payed $450 (ebay Buy It Now price) which was being sold as "as new" and it turned out to be just that. Very happy! The PS and the USB cable boxes were still unopened and the screen still had the plastic on it.

My trick to estimate value is to search for the item on eBay then change to advanced search and check the box to search the the completed listings. This gives you a clear range of what people are actually willing to pay for the item at autction. A direct sale may be worth a little more.

$350 is pretty standard, that's what I paid for mine almost a year ago and it was in box practically unused.

300-400 because remember when retailers have holiday sales the list price of 500 can go down to 400 brand new. Based on that and what you can get on ebay for them used, I think a fair price would be 350 including shipping.

A friend is moving and played in church with our worship team about once a month. He wants to sell his HD 500. It looks new, and really hasn't had much use.
