Actually I don't think there is a firmware update for the fbv that does anything more than affect the ability to use the controller with a PC.

If your concerns are in regards to controlling a certain piece of gear, then you'd probably want to inquire about an update for that gear... because the controller is pretty much hardwired from the factory for it's outputs to gear.

what the gear does with that output... depends on the gear... and potentially on the firmware of that gear... not the fbv firmware (express or shortboard)

Can you be more specific? The answer may depend on what problem(s) you are talking about, and the device you plan to use it with.

I was about to by the foot controller but read months and months of unanswered problems when users tried to upgrade the firmware. I don't want to spend $90 and end up with a useless controller and screwed up pc! Have the issues been resolved?
