i believe he is banned. his last batch of posts were very strongly worded rants directed at particular individuals on this forum. there was also talk of him violating his NDA when he was a beta tester.

there was certainly back and forth between them, and i'm not defending anyone or taking any sides. Merlin certainly felt like he was taking a principled stand against individuals he considered bullies and unhelpful and seemed prepared to accept any of the consequences.

post 262 reminded me of some aspects ..

when you accumulate too much tension a sabbatical year can be beneficial to yourself and to the others..

and as you know also applies to everyday life ..
fortunately not all human beings are so opportunistic and ungrateful ..

however, whatever Merlin has decided to do, hope at least that he's okay

I don't speak for him in any way, but I will give you my opinion from the events I have seen over the past few months.

He was very frustrated with Line 6 for many reasons. Some were probably warranted and some may not have been.

He took a sabatical on his own for a time but came back. I don't know if his absence recently was self inflicted or not. He was going through some personal things but I don't think there was anything life-threatening or even if the personal things had anything to do with it. I have no first hand knowledge, just from things he said and he did send me some personal communications.

He was is a nice guy but I think he took some of the things said on here too personally and some other people did give him a hard time. I know from his perspective he thought he was helping Line 6 and giving them good suggestions that they just didn't listen to for whatever reason.

He was also trying to fit into the digital world where you may work really hard to help someone with a problem and not get any appreciation. Many of the posters here do hit and runs where they leave a question and then never return to thank whoever answered them. Also, there are tons of posts for things that could have easily been answered by looking at the manual.

Anyway, just my two cents.

sometimes I wonder what happened to MerlinFL, he was very active in this forum, then suddenly disappeared ..

has been banned from this forum?.. or perhaps he took a sabbatical year?... or maybe he is not in good health?..
some news?
