the 600 didn't come with the interface, and the software was always free to download...

you can still get the workbench interface new... did a quick search:

I bought a used Variax 600 (great guitar!) and it came with everything except the USB Interface. It did come with the Workbench software, but not the Workbench USB interface. Maybe someone out there upgraded to the new variax or bought an X3 or HD POD and no longer needs the USB interface? If so, please email me BRowe14400@aol.com so we can work out a deal.
