The MIDI out for the adapter should go to the MIDI in of the M9, and the MIDI in for the adapter goes to the MIDI out of the M9. I'm not sure what adapter you're using, but sometimes the labeling is confusing on them. The other thing is that if you're using a cheap MIDI adapter, you may simply be out of luck. It seems like most people need to use something like the M-Audio UNO to get the update to work. But even in that case, Monkey should be able to recognize the M9.

Hi, just bought an M9, and it's still on an early version of the software (1.1 i think). I've bought a usb to midi cable but can't get it to recognise the m9.

when i start up line6 monkey and select connect via midi cables, it gives me 3 options for midi out (microsoft gs wavetable synth, usb 2.0 - midi and midiout2 (usb 2.0-midi)

the midi in only gives me the option of usb 2.0-midi

whichever configuration i try it says "failed to connect to line 6 device", if you are sure your midi out is connected to the midi input of the correct device, you may proceed without verification using your selected midi ports. otherwise press cancel to try again.

any ideas?
