If you aren't going to use the DT-25 and just go straight to the board with your electric, you don't need to use the fx loop. You still can if you want more flexibility to mix the acoustic at the board, but you don't need to.

As for you question about patch setup, I have a bank where slot one is my acoustic model then slot two is a Les Paul with a Marshall, slot 3 is a LP with a Mesa and slot 4 is a tele with a Fender. It gives me flexibility to go from acoustic to electric in the middle of songs from different genres. Two examples are Ice Cream Man and Pink Houses. Really adds something to the songs to be able to do that. In fact on Pink Houses I flip the switch to put it in Open G. I love my rig! :-)

yes, if you want a stereo signal

not automatically

to have a mono acoustic sound only on the Left XLR OUT you have to set both Pan A e Pan B full Left in the POD mixer block of your ac. patch..

to have a mono electric sound only on the Right XLR OUT you have to set both Pan A e Pan B full Right in the POD mixer block of your el. patch..

the same logic applies if you connect instead the 1/4 OUTs

personally for each patch I would prefer to have a stereo sound and set Pan A & B to left and right as they are by default..

I don't feel the need for separate FOH mixer channels settings for the acoustic sound and for the electric one.. I want just a general flat response from the PA

It's enough for me to do all the eq, pan and other settings directly from the POD

just connect one (for mono) or both (if you want stereo) the two 1/4 OUT outputs to the mixer, or connect both (in this case there is no choice) XLR OUT balanced outputs to the mixer (good solution for very long cables and to be able to effectively use the XLR ground lift switch in case you need it)

yes, connect the physical FX SEND output to the mixer for your acoustic patch (with FX LOOP at the end of the chain)..

for your electric sound patch (without FX LOOP) connect the standard 1/4 OUT LEFT or RIGHT output to your external amp, and both XLR OUT LEFT and RIGHT outputs to the mixer..

in your acoustic patch insert the fx loop as the last effect at the end of your chain and after the mixer block, that way you break the connection with the standard output connected to the external amp and you deviate the signal to the send output from where you have to do the connection to the external mixer
