Unfortunately there is no way to defeat the amp model. One lacking thing is no acoustic model on the HD 500 or DT series. Seems like an odd thing to overlook. Maybe in the future they will give us that.

I'm wondering if anyone has a better solution for this combination of gear to achieve a really good acoustic tone. I have had some success using the Double Vib model at a very low gain setting and then tweaking with some EQ on the HD500, but it's nowhwere near the clarity and realism I get by using no model at all and going directly into the PA or using an FFFR amp. The hitch I'm finding with giong to the DT-25 is if you defeat the amp model on the HD500, the DT-25 automatically switches to the topology already selected on Channel B, thereby defeating the intent to play acoustic using no amp model. Anyone have some success stories to share? Thanks!
