From memory (which is somewhat muddled nowadays, so my apoogies if it proves incorrect) you can assign more than one effect to each pedal. In that case you may be able to group the effects to some degree if there are any combinations that you tend to select / deselect at the same time.

There will be a momentary interruption in FX 1-4 as you switch patches. During the switch they will be turned off, and then on again. This may be noticeable for time-based FX such as delays.

I just thought of this. I could assign patch into 1A with effects 1-4. Then duplicate it into 1B with effect #5 just turned on. Not assigned to a footswitch. Then I could toggle back and forth between the 2 patch locations.

Yes, this is what I've been doing, but of course there is always an extra effect that I want to toggle...

No can do. There is no mind-reader beneath the switches to determine which behaviour you would prefer at the moment. And any physical method (even double-tapping) of distinguishing would probably create havoc with the precise timing needed for these changes during the middle of a song.

Short story - you need to choose one or the other behaviour.

From my own experiance, it's either one or the other.

What you could do is decide which effects you really want to toggle on and off and assign foot switches 1-4 to those.

You have to choose pedalboard mode or preset mode in the setup menu. In pedalboard mode, to select the preset you want to go to, you have to hit the bank up or down switch, and then you can use switches 5-8 to choose the preset you want. Other than that, there's no quick way to switch between the two modes.

I've created a patch where I have 8 effects that I want to assign to footswitches 1-8. However, if I have the HD 500 configured so that I choose different patches with footswitches 5-8, I cannot access my effects that have been assigned to those footswitches. On the other hand, if I configure the HD 500, so that I can access effects assigned to footswitches 5-8, I can not easily access different patches, if I want to change during the song I am playing. So, my question is, is there a short cut that exists so that I can easily use footswithces 5-8 for both pathes and effects? Thank you in advance for all of your thoughts and ideas.
