At full power, the DT XLR is fed from the output tranny...In LVM mode, the XLR is indeed fed directly from the HD modeler...

i own a dt25/hd500 and always use the direct out , sounds pretty good.

but i'm also wondering what other devices like the Radial jdx sounds like,

I believe the XLR out is using all digital modeling/LVM output resources regardless of amp volume/tube utlisation through the speaker.

this is not true, the direct out on the dt is directly tapped from the output trannie, so you get all the tube goodness with cab/mic simulation

Since you have it coming, well, try it, but I think it's completely redundant, and it won't produce a better speaker/mic emulation better than the DT's own.
Try it and tell us what you think. If you feel like recording some samples comparing the two, they'll be interesting to hear

I've read some good things about this unit. There are some great youtube videos that demonstrate its uses.

The main benefit of the JDX over DT's onboard out to PA that I see (and this is speculation that I am pretty sure is spot in) is this:

I believe the XLR out is using all digital modeling/LVM output resources regardless of amp volume/tube utlisation through the speaker.

The JDX connects via speaker cable between the amp and the speaker hence you are getting a more accurate direct signal to PA to what you created.

I would be very interested to hear the thoughts of any users of the JDX as well as DT users who may have more insight into the XLR out built into the DT.
