I like how you can adjust the action individually for each string on a fender-esque bridge anyways.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The saddles on the Variax are coated. My D string saddle has a really small chip in it and inside is a copper-looking material.       <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:bad48deb-c666-400a-99f9-6cf72bdc49a4] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;yeah&amp;#160; not&amp;#160; as&amp;#160; many as you may&amp;#160; think though.and&amp;#160;&amp;#160; more difficult&amp;#160; than the graphtech to put in. plus&amp;#160;&amp;#160; as i recall that&amp;#160; tom bridge from&amp;#160; baggs&amp;#160; is&amp;#160; alot ore than&amp;#160; the graphtechs.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; then add to that&amp;#160; a bigsby tremelo. or god forbid&amp;#160; a lyre&amp;#160; or a floyd&amp;#160; rose&amp;#160; which&amp;#160; are&amp;#160; more than the bigsby. well&amp;#160; its im thinking&amp;#160; a 300 dollar&amp;#160; situation and&amp;#160; it involves&amp;#160;&amp;#160; drilling&amp;#160; for the&amp;#160; tom bridge&amp;#160; and tail piece&amp;#160; at the least&amp;#160; for&amp;#160; the bigsby&amp;#160;&amp;#160; well its alignment&amp;#160; and a few&amp;#160; screws&amp;#160;&amp;#160; the&amp;#160; lyre&amp;#160; or maestro which is the same&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; is also alignment&amp;#160; and&amp;#160; 4 screws&amp;#160; and getting that cover&amp;#160; on it&amp;#160; is&amp;#160; a pain in the neck ... i put one on my sg.&amp;#160; and if you gothe&amp;#160; floyd&amp;#160; rose&amp;#160; route... well that involves&amp;#160; routing.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;in short&amp;#160; this is most likely&amp;#160; in the v1 versions&amp;#160; they went&amp;#160; with&amp;#160;&amp;#160; the&amp;#160; hard&amp;#160; tail&amp;#160; fender&amp;#160; type bridge to begin with&amp;#160;&amp;#160; eventually offering&amp;#160; a tremelo on the 6 and 700.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; btw&amp;#160;&amp;#160; the&amp;#160; variax&amp;#160; saddle&amp;#160; is&amp;#160;&amp;#160; based&amp;#160; on the&amp;#160; newer&amp;#160; cast strat saddles. and are&amp;#160; nothing at all like the old&amp;#160;&amp;#160; stamped&amp;#160; strat saddles&amp;#160; which i prefer.. but the&amp;#160; ones&amp;#160; in the&amp;#160; variax&amp;#160; are&amp;#160; unique to lr baggs&amp;#160;&amp;#160; necescity to hold there&amp;#160; pickup.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:bad48deb-c666-400a-99f9-6cf72bdc49a4] --&gt;</description>
