Yeah its driving me nuts cause I wanna make custom guitar setups but its pointless if they are just gonna change em later... Been checking everyday I wish they would just give a date when they make announcements like that...

I'm pretty excited about the update, and have been checking tgp like crazy since I heard about it. Basically, I don't think we are going to get details about the realease date though, because I think the date depends on the user testing. Obviously, there may or may not be problems with the update and those may be big or small, so untill testers find the problems, they won't really know how long it will take to fix them. Once they fix the problems they find, then the whole thing starts over and they re-test to see if the fixes caused new problems. I don't think they will know for sure when it will be available untill a couple days before they release it. Best thing to do is not worry about it too much, just chill and before too long get a nice surprise (kinda talking to myself here).

Regarding the new acoustics, I actually like them a lot better. I think they sound better and I like the fact that they are brighter with the tone knob turned up. I felt like with the old ones, I was always turning the tone knob way down which was a pain for changing patches (with some OK solutions from the HD500 and workbench). Obviously, ymmv. I think the electrics will be less polarizing though, since the desired (or acurate) tone of an electric is probably more agreed upon than a miced acoustic.

I Just can't understand how the new acoustics are better...I mean, If I plug my JTV directly to a PA, HD500, or whatever with firmware 1,71, it sounds good and realistic without a single tweek, and then if you need/want to EQ it, add reverb, comp, etc, you just add it yourself. With the new acoustics it seems you need to dial in a bunch of EQ's and effects just to get it to sound acceptable/normal...

I'm not saying this is a fact, I know a lot of people out there adore the new acoustics, but unfortunately that's not my case, and I'm really sad about it. I've reflashed my JTV back and forth a bunch of times in hope I can manage to get it right, but haven't so far...

Lets hope the new update comes soon and makes a good diference for the better for everyone, or most people!

HD does not mean it will be better to everyone. Let your ears decide.

then get comfortable... because they are 100% not bringing back the old acoustic models.... and the new acoustic models are considered the HD models.

If the new HD update is only for the electrics and not the acoustics, I'll pass...I can't use the new acoustics, and I'll be hanging on to v.1,71 if they maintain that miced, "eco", small room sound! Man, I really hate the new acoustics...i've tried, but I just can't get a decent sound. The ones from 1,71 are good enough for me...

I opened a support ticket a week or more back asking if they knew when it would be ready. They said no. The first I caught wind of it was an add in either premier guitar or a sweetwater catalog. Quit teasing us!

Saw the namm mention, but no date set as far as I can tell. Very much looking forward to the udpate. Anyone from l6 care to chime in with details?
