Hmm, I looked in the manual and don't find anything on the maximum characters that can be displayed.

I guess Line 6 assumed users would figure it out?

But by the example of "Malmsteen Strat" that's 15 characters.

It seems 16 would be the digitally correct number?

Yep, I've had the same problem. HD Edit will allow you to use longer names than there are spaces on the LCD on the POD. I spent ages organising a bunch of patches with names that included detail of the guitar they were dialed for, which amp model, etc, then had to go back through and re-edit them when I realised the POD wouldn't show the whole name so I couldn't tell some of them apart. Lesson learnt.

When I tried to save a preset I made that I named Malmsteen Strat #1 I noticed that my HD Pro simply saved it as Malmsteen Strat. It omitted the #1 part. Did I commit an error somewhere or won't the HD Pro save things like #1?
