HD Edit will allow you to use longer names than there are spaces on the LCD on the POD. I spent ages organising a bunch of patches with names that included detail of the guitar they were dialed for, which amp model, etc, then had to go back through and re-edit them when I realised the POD wouldn't show the whole name so I couldn't tell some of them apart. It omitted the #1 part.
