If you are not sure, you can go to your Control Panel > System. Then click the Hardware tab & press the 'Device Manager' button. In the window that appears, click the '+' symbol found next to the last item marked 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers.' Under that heading, look to see if you have anything labeled 'USB2' or 'High Speed.' If you have nothing like this, you probably do not have USB 2.0 ports on that system & the X3 will not operate on that system properly.

All I know is from a perhaps faulty memory of previous posts on this. I think I recall that some X3 users have reported having problems with USB PCI cards and USB hubs (even internal ones that are sometimes behind a multi-port front panel access on desktop PCs). In some cases these problems disappeared when they used a different USB port. I used the term 'direct' just to distinguish between those situations - it's not a technical term.

Regardless of the definition, if the original poster has a chance to solve the problem simply by using a different USB port, it's worth a shot.

If you have an available USB 2.0 direct port you could try that. Again, I may be wrong on this.........but just trying to help.
