Connection issue on some new Relay G50/90 units, with resolution

It has come to our attention that a small number of Relay G50/G90 systems may have been shipped starting in the wrong RF mode. This is very easy to resolve. If your new Relay G50/G90 wireless system’s TBP12 transmitter will not connect to its receiver, switch the RF mode by following the procedures below:

1. Turn body pack power on.

2. Press and hold the "Select" button until the channel number flashes.

3. Press and release the "Value" button while continuing to hold the "Select" button.

4. Release both buttons when the display shows "RF1".

5. Verify by powering off the unit then turning power back on and watching for RF1 to be displayed during the turn on sequence. Your transmitter will now connect to your receiver.

I Returned My New Spider Valve

So I bought a SV 112 Mark 1 when they first hit the stores back in about 2007. I still have it and I do like it. I love its flexibility, built in effects, awesome Mark 1 Shortboard, and the tone which I consider good enough for live gigging with my cover band. After all these years with trouble-free service from my Mark 1, I decided to buy a 112 Mark 2 and the Mark 2 Shortboard so I could try out the most updated advancements to the SV. I got the first one and it was buzzing up a storm. Returned it for a second one and all seemed good. The tone is different than the Mark 1. Its not bad, but the Mark 1 sounda bigger and the Mark 2 sounded like it had a blanket covering the speaker. But I kept on working with it. I found that I really like the new "high gain" models. I could get a mild cruchy tone all the way to a fully distorted tone using this amp model. So then I started experimenting with the effects. I gotta tell you, I like the effects better in my Mark 1. I know people have complained about the limited tweakability of the Mark 1, but there are some sweet spots in the dial for each effect. The Chorus in the Mark 2 seemed less lush, and I could not get a pleasing phaser sound. Some of the other effects are nice, and I did like some of the reverb options as well. But I'm not a huge tweaker... meaning I don't like to spend hours having to dial in every specific aspect of every amp model, every effect, every patch for each of my guitars. Yes, I do have to tweak the Mark 1, but I find less options to be a good thing. Anyway, I finally dialed in some good patches then I hooked up the Mark 2 Shortboard. What a major downgrade this thing is versus the Mark 1, especially the LED read out. But I forged on anyway, only to find that every time I switched patches mid-song the amp would make very loud pops. Long story short is that I now know by reading forums that this is a known problem by Line 6 and their stupid solution is to crank up your patch volumes which means my master volume goes from silent to ear-bleeding volume. Well, I decided to try this anyway, then I overcame this ridiculous master volume issue by setting my minimum and maximum volume pedal levels to 10 and 15 respectively. This way my master volume allowed me to not go from silent to ear bleeding volume. So I tried this for a while only find that I still occasionally had pops when changing channels. After all this nonsense I said the hell with it. I packed it up and sent it back. While I don't love my Mark 1 version, at least it is reliable, without design and/or quality defects. The Mark 2 may have alot more features, but the two Mark 2 amps that I tried were junk.

Already latest firmware. I used it to upgrade Spider IV 75 firmware and all went ok. As i unplug the Fbv from usb it started behave strangely, with led flashing and pedals not working. After several restarts it suddenly worked again. Use it as interface with Spider IV editor, latest version. The operation seemed a little slow, but it worked. Then i Read a preset from Spider and the software get stucked at 0%. After some minutes I kill the program and unpluged Fbv. From that moment it's completely unusable. It only light the second led from the left (tuner led) and the only pedal that seems alive is the B, when pressed it lights its own led and the first right led of the tuner. Fbv does not go into calibration mode in any way. The same happens with Usb power supply (without a computer, only a usb battery charger like iPhone) and with RJ45 power supply from the Spider.

***

I tried again after some minutes, just to see if it could word as an interface for the Spider. With both usb and rj45 connected I got some hum from the speaker, and then all the leds turned off.

Now, as I power the fbv, I got only a fast blink of all leds, and nothing more.

Since the original thread is a bit old, I was wondering if anyone managed to solve the Fbv problem.

I' m from Italy and the unit isn't under guarantee anymore,...... maybe I should start thinking about a new shortboard (if this model is not affected by this great BUG)?

I'm using an UX1 with the 32bit version of Reaper on Windows XP. Basically when i use Pod Farm as an effect for a track the sound becomes heavily distorted and messy, with crackling and popping. Note that this doesn't occur when i'm using the standalone version of Pod Farm. It worked perfectly at first, but started doing this one day out of the blue. What could be the source of this problem? Any advice?

Thank you very much.

POD XT PRO --> ART SLA2 power amp..... low output coming from POD

It's going into an ART SLA2 power amp to a stereo 2x12 cab

The signal lights on the ART are not lighting up, despite the fact I tried maxing the levels on both VOLUME and MASTER on the POD. I know it's not a problem with the amp because I verified it with another preamp and the signal lights up fine.

I have tried connecting them two different ways, POD XT XLR outs to the ART's XLR inputs, POD unbalalanced 1/4" outs to ART's 1/4" inputs, yet the signal ligh ton the amp doesn't light up.

I have tried all the I/O settings and the Direct out is the loudest of the options I have there.

Hello - I'm wondering if anyone else has observed this. I've been struggling to get the tones I want from my JTV-69, via the VDI cable and a POD 500HD, and last night I simply plugged the JTV directly into my amp, using a regular 1/4 inch guitar cable. I noticed a distinct improvement in the basic guitar tones, across all electric models. So I switched back to the 500HD, this time with no 1/4 inch cable, but the VDI. I selected a "New Tone" - blank - patch, and I noticed, no matter how I set up the POD (Studio/Direct, Preamp, etc) that the guitar tone was flatter, thinner, anemic almost. Can Line6 explain this? Is something happening at the D2A conversion for the 1/4 inch output that is not happening when the signal goes to VDI?

My problem is that I LIKE the 1/4 inch tone, and I spend way too much of my time trying to overcome the awful VDI signal in the POD, which is obviously do-able, but (IMO) should be unneccesary. Note: I am not talking about the MAGNETIC mode on the JTV, but the MODELED modes. About the only guitar models that sound better through the VDI and POD, IMO, are the ACOUSTIC and RESO models, with the possible exception of the Danelectro.

Thanks, Larry
