Well OK

I had to write something after three hours with my new JTV69 tonite.

Received from Musician's  Friend (huge disconnect on shipping) - they showed they had not shipped the guitar to me and I received it while trying to they tried to sort it all out. Gotta love web stores and software systems.

The guitar is awesome. Don't like the D'Addario strings shipped on the guitar and will change them out for my beloved GHS Boomers (.010's) and re-intonate etc but played the guitar for about three hours tonite.

The neck is sweet. The construction is good. The bridge is delightful. One turn on the truss rod, intonation check and it was good to go. I tweaked a couple of the saddles and made a few adjustments that are very user specific. I have to say I was impressed with the set up of my guitar out of the box ---- not bad. I like the action to be relatively low on the neck so I made a few tweaks and this guitar did not disappoint. None of the e-string slippage noted on this site and I played it hard.

It is sweet. Came with 1.71 firmware so I reflashed it to 1.82. Don't understand all the flap on the acoustic models but Line 6 did a nice job with the 1.82 firmware as you can have it either way. I like the newer models BTW.

I have had a Variax 500 for 8 years now and have gigged with it and my venerable PodXT Live incessantly for all that time. They have a lot of gig time on them in smoky bars in Minneapolis and have never disapointed,

I am waiting on delivery (tomorrow) of my HD500 and DT25 112 to complete my dream rig and after playing this guitar tonite I have no doubts that it will be a significant improvement over my current Variax 500/PodXT Live rig.

I plan to spend quite a while beating everything into submission with Variax workbench and the HD Edit program to get my set lists and such set up but based upon the time with just the guitar tonite, I am very stoked about my decision to upgrade everything after 8 years with my current rig.

Kudos Line 6. No horror stories here (yet),

Keep up the great work... This rig will make life so much easier gigging

Best regards
