Flextone 11 Plus with Vetta 212 - OK?

What is the best way to use a Vetta cab with a Flextone 11 Plus please? I have a Flextone 11 Plus and have just bought a Vetta 212 cabinet to use with it as I've had trouble finding a matching Flextome cab. It sounds great using a single (mono) cable to link the external speaker output to the right side input on the Vetta cab. I have two concerns. Main one is that although both the speakers in the Vetta cab are marked as 8ohm on the speakers themselves, the input seems to be marked 4ohms in mono and 8ohms in stereo if both speakers in the Vetta cab are connected. So I want to be sure that the connection is safe for the Flextone. The other issue is whether, if I am connecting with a mono cable, there is a connection inside the cabinet to utilise both speakers? I've never seen a speaker cabinet with more than one input so I'm totally confused. It sounds good - but I don't want to burn anything out! Thanks in advance....

I have a broken power switch, it is in the on position so I am able to use the amp. Where can I purchace one, or is this a repair shop item?

Hello, I'm new here and am sure this question has been asked before, but I'm not finding any info. So here goes.

Product: Flextone II head that I bought used on E-bay. I've had it since 2007 and have never had a problem with it until now.

Used With: Laney 4x12 cabinet. It's an old angled cab that was originally manufactured in 1988. I have the head set for 8 ohms.

Problem: After about 10 min., the sound cuts out and the settings lights turn off, but the power switch stays lit. After shutting it off then turning it back on after about 15 minutes, it plays, only to cut out again. This happens with or without pedal board connected.

I've tried different power cords and power sources but this continues to be a problem.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Flextone I Duo - BEWARE!

I own a Flextone I duo & footboard that I bought new - It will no longer save programs and Line 6 didn't use the battery method (memory stored by a row of transistors) until the Flextone II came out. Last time this happened, I took it to Earcraft Music (Line 6 Service Center) & took 3 months & charged me $200.00 and a week later it was doing the same thing (never will go back). Sent it to Line 6 and they fixed it. About 6 months later it started acting up again. stop using the amp at gigs because it was too much trouble. Trying to get it fixed again but this is my response from Technical , send it to Line 6 (pay for shipping), "if they can fix it" it is $75.00/hour plus parts and $30.00 for shipping it back to me.

What is even funnier, I mentioned since I invested $1050.00 in this set-up over 10 years ago and now it is obsolete (I said after 30 years my tube amp still works fine) & the techinician stated "you must understand, tube amps are not as advanced technologically speaking". Oh really, at least it works the way it was designed to.

Just to add, I loved this amp when I bought it and got 3-4 really good years from it but there is nothing in the owner's manual about a shelf life.

Flextone 1 power problems

I have an original Flextone 1 Line 6, 60 watt amp.

Its been a great amp, so good sounds.

I play it a couple of hours a day, not cranked or abused. After about a week, it basically switches off.

When I power it up, sometimes different buttons will light up but no sound will come out.

It can take a week sometimes for it to re-set itself. All of sudden it will work again.

I've plugged it in different outlets and sometimes it works and other time no.

Its a very strange problem, anyone have something like this?

This amp is like brand new, and when it first happened, I didn't use if for 5 years so it hasn't been overworked.

I don't really want to get another amp because when its working its a great amp.

Using POD XT Live with Flextone II XL?

Hey everyone,

I am considering buying a Flex II XL or Flex III XL. I have been using my Spider IV for a couple of years now, but it is acting up and my experience with the Flextone series was that they were perhaps more robust amps.

I am mainly using the sounds on my POD XT Live, and I want to be sure I can use it properly with the Flex II XL. I see from the owners manual that the Effects Send and Return are stereo jacks. Would there be any harm sending the L+R output of my XT Live into the stereo return jack?

The manual says not to use "stomp box" type effects in these send/return jacks. I am assuming that the POD XT Live does not fall into that category.

Using 1 FBV pedal to control 2 Flextone III amps?

Is it possible to use one FBV MKII controller or FBV Shortboard to control two Flextone III amps at the same time? I'd be happy if I could select between A B C or D presets and have both amps go to the same preset at the same time.

I'd prefer to run two DT25's to do the same thing, but cna't afford it (cost about $2k). For now, I've got 2 Flextone IIIs as a less expensive solution (no additional cost). I want to use them to get stereo from my HD 500. I've got matching presets on each amp, just need a way to switch both of them at once on occasion. Using 2 controllers is awkward and takes up too much floor space.Finding a solution to use 1 controller to drive both amps would be a good short term solution until I can afford the DT 25s.

Since the FBV controllers and the Flex III amps use Cat5 e-net cables, I wonder if a powered hub or switcher would allow this?

Since I can use software to mod the FBV controller, can I make changes in MIDI to make it work? or is it even necessary? Is this possible at all?

I know this is a wacky request, but it might work.

I own an original Line 6 Flextone 60w 1 x 12 combo. I have always used the four-button switch and have recently updated to the original Floor Board. This pedal was supposedly "new" when I bought it recently, but the wah pedal won't work. When I toe it in the wah turns on, but the sound does not change as i sweep the pedal. It turns off just fine also, just no wah. The volume pedal works fine. Any ideas? Also, I used to own a Line 6 Flextone II HD. The presets and users patches for the combo are in 4 groups of 4 (16 user, 16 pre). Seems like the HD had a lot more when using that pedal. And if I switch back to the HD would that wah work then? Help and thanks ahead of time, ML

Hello,

I just bought a Flextone lll with 212s. I bought it used and therefore, I got no owners manual, or instructions. so I'm kinda just walkin around in the dark bumping into things.

I have been unable to find a reprintable link for the manual on this site or even an area where I can just read it on line for that matter. I would really like to get my hands on one. Also my amp came with no pedals or foot controls, which ones are compatable and can I still get them?

All in all so far I think I like the amp, but I have no way of knowing if everything is working right or not so any imput at all will be appreciated!

Tone settings for the flextone 1

I know there used to be a visual browser where i could view tone settings created by others as if i were looking at the amp itself. The flextone does not have a port to actual download a tone. I downloaded it years ago on another computer I can't seem to find anything like that her on this site is it still available?

Can't get M-Audio Uno to work properly with Flextone III

Just got a new M-Audio Midisport Uno so that I can connect my Flextone III to my laptop and interface with Line6 Edit. Installed Edit (with Java), and newest version of M-Audio drivers. Here's the problem I'm having - when I run Monkey it finds my Flextone III fine. However, it will not Save Bundle (reports MIDI device timed out while waiting for a response). Also, when I try to run Edit I indicate that I'm using Midi, go to Add and it shows the Midisport as the Midi In adn Midi Out but will not find the Flextone. When I first plug in the Uno all 3 lights flash, and then the USB stays on. Likewise when I try to save bundle in Monkey (all 3 flash but then only USB stays on). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the UNO drivers and Edit software and get the same thing. Using Windows 7, 64 bit. Reports that the driver is successful. Any help would be appreciated.
