Recording with Spider IV 15

I'm getting into home recording using my Spider IV 15, and I don't have a nice microphone for recording. Is there any good way to patch the amp into my computer using a 3.5mm line in without destroying the amp or paying out the rear for software? Thanks!

Hi, am new to this game, which is better for recording levels?...to have volume up full on guitar pot and reduce the input signal on the software .....or leave software alone and reduce input via the volume on guitar for a clean and clear sound..ie to prevent clipping yet still record the high tones/mid tones bass tones etc.? Also the same question when using a Mic?

White noise from computer

Hello,

when I connect my Podxt floor to my computer for recording I get white noise. Once unplugged from the computer, the Podxt gets quiet.

I use a MacBook 2008, and the usb cable that came with the Podxt.

How can I avoid the noise?

HD500, Setting up on PC

Hi guys,

I've just got my HD500, fresh out of the box, not even tried it live yet, wanting to jump straight in for recording purposes.

I've got my USB cable plugged in to my PC and 500, power supply is connected, nothing is showing up on my screen, do I need to download anything to get going, if so ... what then?

Pod Farm 2.53 filter effects issue .

The effects under filters in my PoD farm ( version 2.53 ) are all out of key( tune ) with my guitar notes ...So when using sub octaves it fluctuates from in key to out of key so badly its not usable ..Is this a coomon issue ? Is there a fix for this problem ? i Have the latest drivers and PoD farm version installed .Any help would be appreciated . Thanks Brutal

POD HD500 with PT9

Hi guys,

I have the option of either buying pro tools 9 standalone (since Avid designed pro tools as a standalone, with and mbox), or pro tools 9 with an mbox mini, for another £100

I'm about to purchase a HD500 as well, and was wondering what you think would be the best option, either just using the HD USB straight into my computer, into Pro tools, and using the HD as a soundcard, or plugging the HD into the Mbox, into pro tools, and using the Mbox as a soundcard. (I assume theis would cancel out the option of using the HD edit tool).

Its a full overhaul of the stuff I'm using now (Sonar, UX2, EZ Drummer), and I've already got Superioe Drummer ready to use, still in the box. I'm pretty sure using the HD500, Pro tools 9, and Superior Drummer combination will work, along with my PC which as Windows 7 64-bit.

POD HD 500 Noise Issue?

Hi guys. I'll keep this as simle as possible..
I get a lot of noise while recording guitars through my hd500.
I made a simple clean patch with just one amp in the whole chain, expecting it to be as clean as possible. I admit the sound was great was but when I turned up the volume I could hear noise. Even putting the noise gate in the chain didn't fix this problem cuz it only gate'd the noise when I WASN'T playing.

I have tried recording through USB and directly. I have changed cables as well.

Jackson guitar with emghz pickups -> Pod HD500 -> Behringer UB802 -> soundblaster audigy.
Could it possibly be my mixer?

Sound cuts off in pod hd500?

So when i plug usb from my pod hd500 to my pc and play everything is fine, but when i record, listen to music from the pc or whatever, the audio starts to cut of, and make theese small annoying noises, i even hear it on the recording when i record myself!

Conected to an amp, i have no problems.

I had the same problem with my pod ux1, but i could change the buffer size or whatever in pod farm.

Can please someone help me?

Hello everyone!

I recently built a new house and will be moving in next month. I have recording / practice room in the new house and was wondering if anyone could give me advice as to what type of interface / sound card to buy? I will typically only be recording guitar, bass, and vocals, while drums will be done with EZDrummer. My HD500 interfaces nicely with my computer for guitar and bass, but will it work well for recording vocals as well? Should I get some kind of external sound card or do you think that the HD500 will server all my interface needs for guitar, bass and vocals? I truly appreciate any help you guys may be able to provide.
