What hardware to record to Amplitube ?

Hi all,
I'm currently using Amplitube 2 on a 27 iMac, just using an adaptor to plug my guitar straight into the mic port. I'm looking to move to something a little more civilised, and would appreciate some advice on what kind of device I should put between my guitar and my PC for this work.
Are there any Line 6 products designed for this?
I'm specifically looking for something low latency. I looked at things like the Lightsnake, but the reviews said that latency was a problem with this.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
You could use pretty much all the line 6 devices such as guitarport, toneport and all the pods. They are made specifically for studio recording.
This might be a stupid question, but don't the PODs do modelling in the device? How would one connect to my machine for recording? If it's by the mic-in on the machine, wouldn't I see latency from the work being done in the device, before the audio reaches my machine ?
Thanks,
Yes, pods do the processing internally. I don't know what kind of inputs you have on your computer but going from the headphone output into the line in on your computer or mic in ( not preferred) will do the trick. You can use USB on the pods also to connect to your computer. should also see near zero latency.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
