Update Tone Port UX1 Without Internet Access

I need to be able to update my Tone Port UX1 without net access.

 

 

I need to have the "Player" back on my gearbox.

 

I have the first version of gear box on it now from when the UX1 first came out.

 

 

 

How can I do this please?

    You can download all the files you need and transfer everything to an offline computer.

      Your process looks good for plug ins but after I transfer the ATE files will the Tone Port UX1 interface be upgraded and provide me with the fast and slow music player I need ?

        Hey Tom ,

        in order to update your gear box you need Internet you can go to a public Library and use their computer free go to the line6 download page and get the latest verssion of the gearbox and download it to a cd rom or a usb flash drive and run it on your computer easy make sure that you uninstall the old version before you upload the the new save any files that you may have from the old version that you want to keep before you uninstall it just add them to a nother file rename the file after the new install you can add the old files just a tip

          Thanks, I will try but I m afaid Line6 has this thing setup to only provide basic files and configuration untill you do a update online.

          I tried the earlier method here but found no AET or what ever they were files on my laptop that I had been using UX1 on.

           

          I tried for hours and found no contact us support on this site either.  I am gonna look again.

           

           

          I am not happy.

           

          I guess the need to regulate the contact but I am down unable to work with an offline machine.

           

           

           

          Downloading the new Gearbox will not work. It will not have the full program with the "player" in it.  <----- (edit) I was wrong it worked! see last post. Thank you.

    Sandd,

       

      The above suggestions are correct, but perhaps just needs clarification:

       

      1)  In order to use your .aet authorization files on your offline computer, you need to install Line 6 Monkey onto an online computer and authorize the licenses as described in the following document:

      Make sure to type the word 'refresh' in the Activate Purchase window of Line 6 Monkey to generate the .aet files to copy to your own computer using the procedure in the following videos:

      2)  You need to download the Gearbox 3.70 software from the following link:

       

      http://line6.com/software/

       

      Save to a flash drive or CD and install it onto your offline computer first, BEFORE attempting to copy the .aet files to your computer.  (Gearbox needs to be installed first to create the folder locations they need to be copied to.)

       

      3)  Copy the .aet files to the location specified in the 'Transferring Model Packs' videos.

       

      If you have any questions with the steps above, please specify which part of the procedure you are having problems with.

      Ok,

      Thank you!

       

      Line 6 needs to be clear on their site that down loading the Gearbox 3.70 will up date the software without

      the need for the internet.

       

      Nowhere did I see this easily made clear and as the file is only freaking 66MB big one would think it does not have everything

      and your still going to need to connect to Big Brother on the net.

       

      I stand pleasently corrected. A big Thank you 2nd to last poster here.

       

      I get real crabby when I feel like I being held back because of no direct support and I am waiting for a post.

       

       

       

      I have no pyrchased plugins so I never saw any aet files on my computer that Im updated from the net in the past.

       

      Anyway my recording computer at my studio which is an "older setup,'" a P4 3.0, 2gb ram, two drive sata raid,  running Sonar 4 Producer and BDF2 is running sweet with no Microsoft network softwre and only SP1 loaded.

       

      My Line6 UX1 is up and working nicely. I have the full player running and I am HAPPY once again.

       

      If I can't come up with a hit with this setup there is something wrong with me. You don't need the newest stuff to kick ***.
