Bass PODxt - display is blank

When I power up my PODxt, the screen lights up, but there's nothing on it. The monkey logo that normally appears during power up doesn't show either.
I've looked up help on this forum and tried the following:
1) Power up while holding down save and edit
2) Re-installing USB firmware ( 1.12, same version as before)
Neither have made any didfference.
This did happen to me once before, and I seem to remember that time that connecting to the computer was all that was needed. That hasn't worked this time either, obviously, but it does give me a bit of hope that this situation is recoverable.
Any ideas what I do next ?
Thanks, Andy
I recommend putting the POD into SAFE MODE by holding the first (from the left) of the four black buttons under the display as you power on the POD.
Then, connect to the Line 6 Monkey software and re-install the flash memory.
If the problem persists, you will need to take it to an authorized service center:

Thanks for the answer, but I did find after trying lots of things that on the 3rd or 4th (or maybe 5th) attempt to reload the USB firmware it did actually bring the Pod back to life. I'll note the Safe mode trick in case it happens again.
