Pod not picking up guitar signal

I always thought that I was having trouble with my computer, but when everything is hooked up I realized my pod is not picking up the signal from my guitar. There are no service centers within a 60 mile radius, and I am no longer under warranty. What do I do?

Did you check the input setting? (there is a dedicated button). The tone's input source must of course correspond to whatever the guitar's plugged into. This may seem trivial, but there's really no other reason why the pod shouldn't 'pick up' the guitar signal.

Try this test to see if your guitar signal is being picked up:

    - plug your guitar into GUITAR IN on the X3

    - set Tone 1 Input to GUITAR

    - engage the Tuner (press/hold TAP button for 2 seconds)

If the tuner responds then your signal is being received by the X3 and it's likley that you have some settings problem (input, output, mute,...)

If the tuner does not respond then it's likely that your problem is either outside the X3 or the input jack on the X3. Test the jack cord, the guitar itself, and anything else in the input chain separately (e.g. using an amplifier). If they all work with other equipment but not the X3 then the problem is your input jack on the X3.

Not sure if you have already done so, but you can try re-installing the flash memory of your POD X3 using the Line 6 Monkey software to see if that will resolve your input problem.

If the problem persists, you will need to send it to an authorized service center repair:
